As per a set of documents leaked to medias, Arkady Rotenberg, one of the closest friends of Russian President Vladimir Putin, have misused Barclays Bank in London to launder money.

The documents have also proved that the bank has been misused to dodge sanctions imposed over the person by certain Western countries affiliated to the European Union.

Arkady Rotenberg is a billionaire. he is known to Mr. Putin since childhood.

It is believed that financial restrictions imposed over Mr. Rotenberg has promoted him to utilise this fraudulent method.

The development means Western banks have to find a convincing explanation on why they have helped the man to use the channel to move money.

Meanwhile, the bank has justified its position on the ground that they have not committed any illegality.

As per the opinion of the bank, the transaction has been done in accordance with the regulations prescribed.

The Russian government has not yet commented on this issue yet. Russia is not likely to respond on this matter any time soon.

Alexander Lukashenko, the dictator of Belarus, has reached Russia, to meet his Russian counterpart and supporter, Vladimir Putin.

He has been accommodated in a resort near Black Sea.

It is clear that the visit has a link to the ongoing protest of pro-democratic activists in Belarus.

Russia earlier said that it was ready to send its force to Belarus to support the Belarus leader.

The only country which supports the Belarus dictator at present is Russia. The European Union does not recognise the leader and recently dismissed the election which was allegedly conducted in an unfair manner.

It is the first time since the emergence of the protest that the two leaders are meeting.

The development is keenly observed by the rest of the European world.

Some observers have already termed the meeting as highly crucial.

Already, the Belarus government’s attitude towards the protest has invited huge criticism. If the country continues this attitude, it will lead the European world to a great danger.

It is not wise to let the protest continue in this manner. It is unfortunate that the Belarus dictator shows no remorse for the unacceptable way his force has handled to the protest.

It is high time to find a solution to the Belarus issue.

He has said that the force would be sent to Belarus if the things went out of control in the European country.

Belarus has been witnessed a series of violent demonstrations since President Alexander Lukashenko was released to the post.

Protesters allege that the election – through which the President achieved the opportunity to continue in the post – was not conducted in a free and fair manner.

Recently, several human rights groups criticized the Belarus government for the way in which it handled the protest.

Many protesters alleged that they were treated improperly when they were taken into custody.

Even the country’s attitude towards journos was also improper. At least 13 journalists – including a BBC team – were detained in the centre of the capital, Minsk, ahead of a planned opposition protest.

Though the interior ministry said they had been taken to a police station for identity checks, one of those journos who was arrested said it was a clear attempt to interfere with coverage of events.

The critic is a most powerful opponent of Mr. Putin. It is not the first time he has been subjected to this kind of attack. Several times in the past too, he has suffered this kind of attack.

Anyway, the attack has belittled Russia. It has inflicted an irreparable damage over the image of Russia.

It is not a surprise that Russia has gone this far to attack its rival. The country is known for its intolerance towards its critics.

It is unfortunate that a country like Russia has failed to protect the values it has uphold for generations.

It indicates that Russia has fallen completely under the clutches of autocracy.

Russian doctors have said that Alexie Navalny, the prime critic of Russian supremo Vladimir Putin – who was hospitalised recently after he had fell ill during a flight to Moscow – was too ill to be taken outside the country for better treatment, paving a space for his supporters to cry foul in the present decision of the doctors to keep him insider the country – which is under the absolute control of the autocrat against whom the victim has stood all through his political career.

A statement made by a doctor who is in the team which treats the victim that there is no sign of a poison attack proves that there are valid reasons to pay attention to the allegations made against the country by the supporters of the injured critic.

As per the latest bulletin released by the team of doctors which treats the injured, Mr. Navalny has not recovered from the state of coma.

It is high time to launch an international campaign to make sure that the injured receives proper treatment in his country.

The longer it takes to get him out of the country, the shorter it becomes the chance of finding the exact reason why he fell ill.

The arrest of a regional leader, Sergei Furgal, who is the governor of Khabarovsk, has sparked protest in the region.

Tens of thousands of people have taken part in a march organised to register their protest against the arrest of their leader.

Khabarovsk is a region located in the eastern region of Russia. The arrested governor is very popular in this part of the country – even more popular than Russian President Vladimir Putin.

There are rumors that Mr. Putin is worried about the rising popularity of the Khabarovsk Governor in the region. Many believe that the move to arrest the governor was politically motivated.

During the march, many participants have raised provocative slogan against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The arrested governor faces serious murder charges. He is accused of having ordered the killing of several business people nearly 15 years ago.

Notably, Mr. Furgal defeated the candidate of Mr Putin’s United Russia party in elections two years ago.

Though His party, the ultra-nationalist Liberal Democrat Party of Russia, is usually seen as loyal to the Kremlin, the growth his party has achieved is definitely irritating for the Russian President and his party.
