Adidas Raises 2026 Profit Forecast After Record Third-Quarter Results

German sportswear giant Adidas raised its full-year profit forecast after reporting a record third-quarter operating profit, supported by a US tariff refund and strong full-price sales. The company’s operating profit rose 37% to €1.008 billion from €736 million in the same period last year, according to Reuters on October 20, 2026.

Adidas received approximately €200 million through a US tariff refund following a court ruling. The company said it would reinvest around €100 million in the fourth quarter, while raising its full-year 2026 operating profit forecast to €2.5 billion from its previous estimate of €2.3 billion.

The German sportswear maker has also benefited from demand for retro-inspired clothing and a boost from the upcoming football World Cup. Competing with brands such as Nike, Adidas continues to introduce new styles to strengthen its market position. The company released the updated outlook ahead of its full earnings report scheduled for October 29.
