A Polish media has busted a racket, which has allegedly smuggled sick cattle into Poland and sold them illegally in their abattoirs. The Polish investigators have launched an investigation into the illegal racket. The report has considerably reduced the demand of Polish beef across the European continent.

How popular is Polish beef in Europe

Poland is the seventh largest producers of beef. Its beef is not as popular as the beef produced in Ireland, Spain, Italy, the UK, Germany and France. The UK is the biggest importer of Polish beef. It imports Polish beef as much as it imports Irish beef.

As per the EU regulation, no slaughter house should slaughter cattle in the absence of medical expert. The video released proves that there were no medical personals in the featured slaughter houses when they performed the slaughtering. The Polish authorities see this absence through suspicious eyes, like many who have watched that video.

What the Polish media has found

Through a sting operation, it has exposed the illegal way some of the Polish abattoirs operate. The video released by the media shows the presence of sick cattle in certain Polish abattoirs.

What veterinary experts say

A veterinary expert says that the video released by the media is reliable, and clearly proves the illegality of the operations carried out by those abattoirs featured in that.

Is this the first time such a report has surfaced

In the past, a large amount of meat was withdrawn from the EU market due to a similar issue.

Europeans respect quality more than any thing else. No other continent gives importance to quality as much as the Europe does.

The European Union market follows high market standards. In the EU market, no goods and services which compromise on its quality are encouraged. Often the EU countries fail to comply with that necessity. In most situations, that is done purposefully to amass huge profit.

The latest development is also seen as the one intended to gain profit.

Apple Inc on Monday said that it will issue a software patch later this week for an error that allows iPhone users to hear the audio from users that have not yet accepted a video call. The bug, initially outlined by Apple product and review website 9to5Mac.com, was reported by several media outlets.

Apple announced the feature last summer, but then removed it from early test versions of its iOS 12 operating system. The bug appears to rely on Apple’s group video calling feature. Apple released the feature to the public in late October. An Apple statement quoted in US media said that the iPhone producer was aware of this issue and they have also found a fix that will be releasing later this week.

A ground of youngsters wearing red scarves has organised counter-protest in the capital city of France, Paris, against the yellow-vest movement, which has been disturbing the political hemisphere of France with persistent violent protests for last few days in the name of a sudden hike in the price of fuel.

The youngsters’ group has identified itself as the red scarves. In the protest organised against the yellow-vest movement, as many as ten thousand people have participated.

A social media page created by the group has already attracted tens of thousands of French youngsters.

The group, it seems, is not against the demands the yellow-vest movement has raised, but is against the means the movement has followed to achieve the demands. In short, the red scarves are against the yellow-vest’s widely recognised mean of violent protests.

Yellow-vest protesters confront red scarves protesters in the latest rally.

The yellow-vest is the most powerful political movement the country has witnessed in the recent history. The movement appeals for a change in the way the establishment looks at the issues that directly affect the common people of France such as the fuel price hike and rent hikes.

The movement’s excessive reliance to violent means is what that makes these genuine appeals less audible among the common people who always prefer peace over violence.

The red scarves’ counter-protest has come a few hours after the yellow-vest announced its plan to contest in the upcoming European Union parliament election.

If someone is worried about this latest political development in France in connection with the rise of yellow-vest movement, it is none other than Emanuel Macron, the man who was inducted to the top post by the anti-establishment faction with the hope of developing an new system free from the clutches of establishment.

Definitely, that timing evokes suspension in many minds. Do you think the red scarves’ counter-protest will reduce the prospects of the yellow-vest members in the upcoming EU parliament election?

A two-year-old boy, who accidentally fell into a borehole in Malaga, has been found dead. The rescue team, who has tried everything possible to rescue the kid, has found it hard to believe that their efforts have not succeeded.

The accident happened when the boy and his family reached a plantation area in Malaga as part of their weekend trip. The boy went missing shortly after they reached the spot, where the 100 meters deep and only 25 cm wide borehole is located. At the initial stage, the family was unaware that there was a borehole in the region and their kid fell into it. It was a local officer who recognised the presence of the kid inside the hole. As soon as the presence of the kid was proved, every concerned department was alarmed. And, all entered into action within no time.

The rescue officials dug a parallel tunnel near the hole as part of their plan to rescue the kid. That tunnel was joined with the borehole with a horizontal hole.

It is evaluated that some miscalculations occurred in the initial stage of the planning of the rescue operation has contributed heavily to its failure.

A social group alleges that boreholes are very common in this part of the world. As per its opinion, it is a huge threat to the human life. It demands that a law should be formed to punish all irresponsible borehole owners.

Interestingly, the owner of the property where the borehole that caused accident is situated has informed the authorities that he was not aware of the existence of such a hole in his property.

It is not the first time the kid’s family has suffered the heat of tragedy; one of the kid’s brothers died of heart disease several years ago when he was just less than three years old.

The European Court of Human Rights has ordered the Italian government to pay a huge sum of 18,400 Euro as compensation to Amanda Knox, the US citizen mistakenly arrested for the murder of her collage mate Meredith Kercher with whom she shared her room when she reached Italy as part of a student exchange program several years ago.

The court has not been completely convinced that she suffered ill-treatment when she was in the custody of Italian police, but it has found that the lady was not allowed to contact her lawyer and not granted the service of an interpreter.

Her main allegation is that she was badly beaten by the police officials in the initial days of the interrogation and was subjected to extreme mental and physical stress.

During the course of the trial, the case has gone through several twists and turns: initially, she was convicted; while she was servicing her third year in prison, she was acquitted and deported to her home country; within a year post her acquittal, a higher court found her acquittal wrong; anyway, when the final judgment of the top court came in the year 2015, she was acquitted of all charges related to the murder.

It was a few months ago that she was allowed by the ECHR to approach them against Italy. Then, there was allegation that it was the pressure from the US that forced the court to accept the lady’s case against Italy.

Most US citizens consider her as the victim of the improper judicial system of Italy. The world media has closely followed each and every development in the case.

Meanwhile, the other part of the story is that the international interference has badly affected the case. Though a person has been arrested in connection with the case, the police have not found answers to all questions necessary to unfold the mystery of the case.
