A France court has imposed a huge fine on an African activist who has staged a protest in a museum in Paris by attempting to remove an African artefact from the museum.

The activist livestreamed the whole episode. He alleged that the art piece was the part of art pieces looted from his continent during the colonial era.

He defended his act by saying that his attempt was to reclaim the art piece which was looted from his continent by France.

The act was intended to gain global attention over the matter of colonial looting.

Anyway, the France court has dismissed his defence. It has imposed a huge fine on the activist.

The court has justified its decision saying that the fine has been imposed to deprive others from following the same path adopted by the activist.

The activist has been found guilty fort aggravated robbery.

The judge has pointed out that he could have adopted other methods to invite the attention of the global community into the matter.

The action of the French court has invited mixed response. Many have come forward in support of the activist and the matter he attempted to project with his act to the world.

As many as two priests have been prosecuted by Vatican in a case of alleged sexual abuse, upholding its assurance that the city state will not take the issue of sexual abuse lightly.

This is the first time the city state has taken up a case like this.

One of the two who has been implicated in the crime is accused of sexually assaulting an alter boy. The other is charged with covering up the alleged assault.

Both the charges are very serious in nature.

Notably, the accused priests have not responded to the allegations levelled against them in the court.

At present, the Catholic community, which is the most respected community in the country, is in a crisis. It is only the leadership of the community which can save the community from this danger.

The relation between Russia and Norway has hit a new low, after the latter alleged that the former attacked the email system of Norwegian parliament with the help of Russian cyber attackers.

Russia has denied the allegation levelled against the country by Norway. The European power has called the allegation provocative.

Meanwhile, Norway has criticized Russia with hard words. The country has termed the attack extremely serious.

Norway and Russia are not in a good relation with each other. Norway technically stands with the European Union. At the same time, Russia is technically out of the union.

The latest development is expected to widen the gap between the European Union and Russia, which is the successor of the erstwhile Soviet Socialist Republics of Russia.

It is important that the issue in the Eastern Europe is handled in a sensible manner. It is pertinent to note that the disturbance in the region can easily trigger a global crisis.

A thirty-nine-year-old Italian woman has been booked on the charges of embezzlement over the complaint filed by Vatican.

She was an employee of Cardinal Angelo Becciu, a senior Vatican official who was recently demoted over a similar charge.

The arrest has been made after an Interpol warrant was issued against her in connection with this matter.

 The woman has denied the charge levelled against her. She has admitted that she received a payment of €500,000 from Cardinal Becciu.

She has defended her stand, by saying that the payment was made to her to provide parallel diplomacy to help missionaries in conflict areas.

The Cardinal has also supported the argument raised by the woman.

Like the woman, the demoted church official has also denounced the allegation that was levelled against him.

The allegation has severely damaged the reputation of the Vatican administration. The administration needs to do an herculean task to erase the damage made by the latest development.

The European country of Cyprus has decided to suspend a controversial citizenship scheme, which grants citizenship to those who invest a minimum of 2 million Euro in the country.

The scheme has come under spotlight after an investigation conducted by a renowned International media house exposed the flaws in the admiration of the scheme.

The investigation exposed how the scheme was misused by a Chinese businessman to acquire the citizenship of the country.

The decision is expected to come into force in the near future itself.

It was in the year 2004 Cyprus was offered a membership in the European Union.

What comes naturally with the citizenship of Cyprus is an opportunity to access the facility of visa free entry to any country in the European Union.

Cyprus is at present one of the very few countries in the continent of Europe which offers the opportunity of securing citizenship in exchange of investment.

Earlier, the EU warned its member countries to stay vigilant while offering citizenship in exchange of investment.  

It is not clear whether any other country in the continent will follow the footprint of the European country of Cyprus.

It is important to make sure the citizenship in exchange of investment is not misused.

In a shocking move, the tainted leadership of Belarus has given free hand to the police force to handle with the protest – emerged in the country since the disputed election.

The police have been awarded the right to use lethal force against the protesters who has extended their support to the anti-government movement in the country.

The tainted election is the triggering point of the issue in the country.

The election, which was denounced as unfair by the opposition, awarded a huge victory to President Alexander Lukashenko.

Several human rights organisations have exposed the unfair attitude of the country towards the protesters. They have published reports on how much improperly the situation has been handled by the country. As per a report submitted by a human rights organisation, the protesters have even been threatened with serious violence by the police.

Many western countries have warned that they would impose severe sanction against the country, demanding that the country should pave way for a free and fair election as soon as possible.

The strength of the present Belarus leadership is the support it gets from Russia. Russia has extended enormous support to the tainted leadership of Belarus.

It is yet to be seen how the things will evolve.

Belarus has used severe force to quell protest originated against its President, Alexander Lukashenko, who was recently re-elected as the head of the country.  

As per a report, the Belarusian riot police have used water cannon and stun grenades against the protesters.

The protest was triggered by the disputed election – which declared Mr. Alexander as the winner of the presidential election.

Several human rights organisations have raised serious criticism against the way Belarus has handled the protest organised against the disputed election.

Amnesty International has demanded the intervention of the western forces to address the issues developed in Belarus.

In the latest rally also, several people have been booked. Since the emergence of the protest, numerous people have been detained by the Belarus police.

The police, in the latest protest, have blasted protesters with coloured water to mark them out for arrest.

Many believe that it is high time to interfere in the issue.

Belarus is a country in the Eastern Europe, which has enormous growth potential. It is not in a good relation with the European Union.

It has a good relation with Russia. Recently, Russia offered support to the country to quell the protest.

The west is closely watching the development in the Eastern Europe.

The European country of Turkey has reentered into a serious energy dispute with its European neighbor, Greece.

Turkey has once against sent its research ship to the disputed waters located near Greece.

Earlier, it withdrew the vessel after the presence of the ship had triggered a dispute.

The disputed waters in the Mediterranean situated near Greece and Turkey is claimed by Turkey, Greece and Cyprus.

It was for the task of surveying that the vessel was sent to the disputed waters last time.

At this moment, it remains unclear why the ship has been sent to the disputed territory this time.
