Celine Dion Opens Paris Fashion Week With Surprise Performance

Celine Dion opened Paris Fashion Week with a surprise performance of her 2002 hit “I’m Alive” beneath the Eiffel Tower. The Canadian singer appeared at the end of L’Oréal’s annual show, wearing a full-length ruched black velvet gown, before joining several of the brand’s celebrity ambassadors on the runway.

Dion was joined by stars including Viola Davis, Simone Ashley, Aja Naomi King and Eva Longoria. The event also featured major fashion names, with Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne walking the runway, while Rihanna and Cynthia Erivo attended other events in the French capital.

The appearance comes after Dion’s recent return to live performance in Paris earlier this month. Paris Fashion Week, featuring women’s spring/summer collections, continues until 6 October, with major shows from brands including Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford, Schiaparelli, Givenchy, Balenciaga and Loewe.
