Bomb Threats Disrupt Flights and Cruise Ship Operations Across Europe; No Explosives Found

At least seven flights and one cruise ship across Europe faced bomb threats on Tuesday, November 3, causing significant travel disruptions and security checks at multiple locations. Flights heading to Warsaw, Sofia, Rome and Murcia were affected, while an Israel-bound cruise ship was searched at a Greek port. Authorities confirmed that no explosive devices were found during the initial inspections.

The threats led to temporary airport closures, flight diversions and additional security measures. A Warsaw-bound LOT flight from London was diverted to Modlin Airport, while flights operated by Wizz Air and Ryanair to Sofia landed safely after inspections. In Spain, a Ryanair flight from Manchester to Murcia triggered an airport security alert, which was later confirmed as a hoax. Two other Ryanair flights were also searched at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport.

Security experts described the multiple threats in a single day as unusual, suggesting that widespread disruption rather than targeting a specific airline or destination may have been the objective. Meanwhile, Greek authorities searched the cruise ship Crown Iris after receiving a threat about an explosive device attached to its hull. Although no explosives were initially detected, further inspections were planned. No group has claimed responsibility for the incidents, and authorities have not identified those behind the threats.
