The post-Covid stimulus package is a very controversial one. The member countries of the European Union have mixed opinions in this matter. Primely, there are two groups. One of them is led by the affected countries like Italy and Spain, and the other is led by certain conservative countries such as Hungary and the Netherlands. The affected faction wants the entire European Union to take the burden of the package. The conservative one is against that idea and wants the beneficiaries to repay the payment once things become stable.

Anyway, the leaders of the member countries of the European Union are set to meet to discuss the matter in the near future.

This is the first time since the outbreak of Covid-19 the leaders have decided to meet in person.

Some top leaders have hinted that the proposed meeting would be very crucial for the fate of the package and for the future of the economic union – which is the most powerful economic union in the world.

La République, the political party of French President Emmanuel Macron, has lost its majority in the parliament, as some of its parliamentarians have severed their ties with the party.

The political party, named Ecology, Democracy, Solidarity, is founded by seven MPs from La République en Marche.

The political party enjoys the support of many ex-supporters of the Macon’s political platform.

The new organisation has diluted the strength of the LREM – which once was the most powerful anti-establishment organisation of the country.

Unlike the LREM, the focus of EDS is environment. It is more like a green political party, than a political party like LREM which carries an anti-establishment message.

At present, Mr. Macron’s party only has 288 members in the 577-member lower house of the French parliament – one is one short of the number required to attain a simple majority in the house.

The lost majority does not mean that Mr. Macron has to step down. The ruling government still enjoys the support of some small political parties – which ensures its continuance in the corridor of power.

The decision has been taken during a discussion between French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The latest decision is the exact opposite of its earlier stand on the matter.

The decision is seen as a last resort to save the European Union from falling into the pit of collapse.

Both Mrs. Merkel and Mr. Macron think the decision is necessary to save the European Economic Union from the fate of collapse.

Unlike what was decided earlier, as per the latest agreement the financial burden caused due to the decision will be shared by the European Union budget.

Many have welcomed the step. Most see this necessary to save the European Economic Union – which is the final outcome of years of hard work.

The European country of France has strongly criticised the Asian country of China – where the disastrous coronavirus outbreak originated several months ago – for the way the Asian country has handled the virus outbreak, a day after a Chinese official website stated the European country left its elderly population in its care homes to destiny.

French President Emmanuel Macron has come out openly against China, questioning the Asian country’s handling of the virus outbreak.

He has contradicted the claim that the Asian country has handled the virus outbreak better than its European counterparts.

France has summoned the Chinese ambassador to the European country to express its dissatisfaction towards the statement published in the Chinese website handled by the Chinese embassy in the country.

Meanwhile, Beijing has taken a non provocative stand in this matter. It has expressed its disinterest to open up an issue because of this statement. It has clarified that it has no intension to make a negative comment against any European country including France.

France is one of the worst hit countries in the continent of Europe. France is now in a recovering stage. Its handling of the outbreak is in fact exceptional.

It is yet to be known how the statement will affect the France-China relation.

A leaked video has spoiled the political career of Benjamin Griveaux, who is considered as a close ally of French President Emanuel Macron.

He was the candidate of Macron’s party for the Paris mayor election. He was one of the top three hopefuls.

Mr. Griveaux has expressed his sadness about the leakage of the video.

Interestingly, highlighting the importance of the separation of politics from personal life, many French politicians have supported the tainted politician. They have unanimously appealed against the Americanisation of the French politics.

The French politics is different from the American one. It favours the separation of politics from personal life, unlike the United States.

Anyway, the development is a major blow to Mr. Macron. The French President’s party has suffered several backlashes recently, from the reduction of its strength in the parliament to the losses it has faced in the recent elections.

Though these blows are not strong enough to disturb the continuation of Mr. Macron as the President of the country immediately, it may impact his position in the long run.

Meanwhile, there is a different side also. The ruling party, if work rightly, can utilise the emotion, generated against the Americanisation of the French politics, in its favour to gain a political mileage from the development.

The victims of the Nazi invasion and several world leaders have gathered in Auschwitz to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the prisons from the deathly concentration camp set up by the Nazi and its collaborators in the Polish city.

In a function organised to mark the 75th anniversary, French President Emanuel Macron has expressed his concern about the re-emergence of the anti-Semitism in the west.

He has called the re-emergence as the problem of the Europe. And, he has denounced the projection of the issue as the concern of the Jewish community alone.

He has remembered those who were deported from his country to the death camp located in Poland.

Several Nazi camp survivors from across the world have attended the function. Some of them have shared how horrific their experience in the camp was.

The once known by the name ‘Auschwitz Concentration Camp is the most brutal death camp run by the Nazi and its collaborators in the European country of Poland.

Around 1.1 million people, mostly Jews, were killed in the death camp. Notably, there were only around 1.3 million people in the camp.

A new statement made by France President Emanuel Macron clearly indicates that the European country of France is unhappy with the protectionist attitude of the United States of America.

As the NATO members are at the doorstep of a crucial meeting, the statement made by France is of great importance.

Beneath the statement lies a clear message that France no longer trusts the security offered by the US.

Its advice for Europe is crystal clear. It wants to see a European army formed, against the interest of the NATO leader.

The root of the crisis lies in the disinterest of the US to use its money for the betterment of the NATO and to engage more with its NATO allies.

The change of attitude was evident when the US reduced its spending on the NATO budget imposing pressure on its allies to spend more on the said budget and when it decided to pull out its force from Syria, paving way for the aggression of Turkey, without discussing the decision with its NATO partners.

Though Germany’s decision on this matter is not different, it is not that adamant as that of its neighbour.

Undisputedly, a European army is a German dream too.

From an aggressive China and an unpredictable Russia to a protective US, Germany and France are no short of reason for the consideration of their dream plan.

French President Emanuel Macron has lashed out at the US-led NATO. He has called it a dead brain.

He has expressed his doubt on whether the US is still committed towards the North Atlatic Treaty Organisation or not.

He has alleged that the US had not consulted its European allies when they had pulled out the NATO troopers stationed in Syria.

Interestingly, Vladimir Putin’s Russia has supported the statement delivered by the French President.

Meanwhile, Germany has strongly denounced the statement made by its friendly neighbour, who is a prominent member of the European Union like the Europe’s most wealthy nation.

What France’s statement indicates is a clear shift in the way France sees the world’s most powerful country. It also speaks a lot about France’s disinterest towards the US’ present political style.

Anyway, the NATO has declined to speak anything about what has been triggered against it by France.

But, it has indirectly said that the organisation is very strong at this moment and will remain strong in the future also.
