Bomb Threats Disrupt Passenger Flights Across Europe
Several airlines across Europe received a fresh wave of bomb threats on Thursday, November 5, 2026, forcing multiple passenger flights to make emergency or unplanned landings. Airlines affected included Aer Lingus, Wizz Air, LOT and Finnair, with flights heading to destinations such as Prague, Paris, Rome, Brussels and Warsaw. Authorities said none of the threats had immediately proved genuine.
Several aircraft were diverted as a security precaution. An Aer Lingus flight travelling from Dublin to Rome landed safely at Evreux airport in France, while three aircraft made precautionary landings in Bulgaria. Czech authorities also reported bomb threats involving four flights heading to Prague. Meanwhile, flights operated by Finnair and LOT faced security warnings, but inspections found no suspicious items.
The latest incidents mark the second wave of aviation-related bomb threats in the same week, following similar disruptions affecting at least seven flights and a cruise ship on Tuesday. Although no country has officially identified those responsible, experts suggest the repeated threats could be part of wider attempts to disrupt essential services and test security responses. European officials have previously raised concerns about potential hybrid attacks, while Russia and Iran have denied involvement in such activities.
