Dutch Boy Wins Right for Covid Jab

Despite his father’s concerns, a 12-year-old child in the Dutch city of Groningen has won a legal battle to get vaccinated against Covid-19 so that he can visit his dying grandma.

A judge concluded that the vaccination would lessen his risks of infecting the woman, who has advanced cancer. Vaccines have been approved for Dutch children aged 12 to 17, however children under the age of 17 require the consent of both parents. Vaccine scepticism is on the rise in the United States.

The boy should be vaccinated as soon as possible, according to Groningen District Court Judge Bart Tromp, because his interests were more essential than his father’s fears. Judge Tromp dismissed the boy’s father’s claims that immunizations were “in the testing phase” and presented hazards to reproductive organs, claiming that they lacked scientific support. While children were less likely to become extremely ill as a result of the infection, he warned that they could have long Covid.

India, UK to Resolve CoWIN Certification Row

The case is based on a scene in the final episode of the drama in which Gaprindashvili, aged 80, claims he has never played competitive chess with males. According to the paper, she had faced at least 59 male players by 1968, the year in which the incident is set. The claim was dismissed by Netflix as having “no merit.” Gaprindashvili and her “illustrious career” were treated with “only the utmost respect” by the corporation, which promised to “vigorously defend the case.”

The Queen’s Gambit is based on Walter Tevis’s 1983 novel and follows Anya Taylor-Joy as Beth Harmon, a fictitious chess player. The series premiered last year and was dubbed “Netflix’s biggest limited scripted series ever” by the streaming service.

Food inflation hits record high in UK

Food inflation in the UK hit record highs as the crisis created by Covid and Brexit was reflected in the market.

The country’s economy averaged 3.2 per cent in August, the highest level since 1997. According to the Office of National Statistics, the main reason for this is the rise in food prices.

The Bank of England’s goal was to keep inflation at 2%. It has now surpassed 3.2 per cent.

Italian village where cats disappear; Police to investigate the mystery

A special police team has been deployed to investigate the disappearance of cats from an Italian village. Hundreds of cats have gone missing this summer from a village in the Santa Maria del Piano area near Lesignano de’ Bagni in the northern Italian province of Parma.

Luana Giusti, a veterinarian in the area, said there had been complaints of cats going missing since the end of May and that complete information on them had been kept.

In the past few weeks, locals say more than 50 cats have gone missing from homes and public places in the area. Most of the missing are domestic cats.

Authorities believe the cats were stolen, not for sale. Because none of the missing cats are valuable or of the higher species. Cats have not been found dead or injured in road accidents.

A few years ago, a man was caught stealing cats from a nearby area to be used to train hounds. But police say he has no role in the current incident. A team of Italian police, Carabinieri, Forestry Police and local police have launched an investigation into the mysterious sighting of the cats.

Denmark Is Now the Only European Country Without COVID Restrictions

Because vaccination rates have reached more than 70% of the population, Denmark has become the only European country without any coronavirus-related limitations.

Covid vaccine: Italy ready to give third dose

Italy says it will begin administering a third dose of Covid 19 immunizations by the end of this month. Health Minister Roberto Sperenza said the third-dose vaccination would give priority to those with the weakest immune system, including cancer patients and transplant recipients.

Speaking to reporters at the end of a two – day meeting of G20 health ministers in Rome, Roberto Sperenza said the country was ready for a third dose of vaccination. Prime Minister Mario Draghi has said that compulsory vaccination is under consideration as protests against vaccination intensify in the country. The government is discussing the possibility of this, he said.

With the delivery of the third dose, the greenpass requirements will be further expanded. Greenpass is a digital certificate for those who have been vaccinated, those who have had a Covid test negative and those who have survived a Covid infection. Greenpass is now mandatory for dining inside restaurants, traveling long distances, and attending cultural and entertainment shows. It will also be extended to workplaces, officials said.
