Spain police bust illegal cigarette industry

The Spain police have busted an illegal cigarette factory. The police have rescued at least six workers from the factory.

Among the six workers who have been rescued, most of them are Ukrainians and Lithuanians.

As per a preliminary report, the factor is owned by around twelve British nationals. An investigation is on.

The police have not yet booked any owner in connection with the crime. They have launched a wide search operation to book the owners.

The illegal factory operated in a horse stable situated in the southern region of the country, Malaga.

The factory has the capacity to produce at least 3,500 counterfeit cigarettes an hour. It is the first illegal cigarette factory busted in the Europe.

Around 12 people were earlier arrested in connection with the case. Sadly, they did not mention anything about the trapped workers. The discovery of the trapped workers by the police was accidental.

During the raid, the police have seized nearly 153,000 packs of cigarettes, 17 tons of tobacco, 20 kg of hashish and over 144 kg of marijuana.

It is high time to launch an investigation into the matter.
