Mbappe’s Late Winner Secures Real Madrid Victory Over Barcelona in El Clasico
Kylian Mbappe scored twice, including a dramatic 87th-minute winner, as Real Madrid defeated Barcelona in a thrilling El Clasico encounter. Mbappe opened the scoring shortly before half-time after a deflected clearance sent the ball into the net. The French forward later struck the post as both sides created several scoring opportunities in an intense first half.
Barcelona captain Raphinha equalised 16 minutes into the second half, finishing confidently after receiving a pass from Pedri. Goalkeeper Andriy Lunin played a crucial role in Real Madrid’s victory, making several important saves, including an outstanding one-handed stop to deny Gerard Martin. Lunin was deputising for Thibaut Courtois, who missed the match due to illness.
With the match seemingly heading towards a draw, Jude Bellingham initiated a brilliant attacking move before substitute Eduardo Camavinga delivered the pass for Mbappe to score the decisive goal. The victory strengthened Real Madrid’s position in the La Liga title race, while Barcelona missed the chance to establish a new record for consecutive wins at the start of a Spanish top-flight season. After 10 matches, Barcelona remained top of the standings, two points ahead of Atletico Madrid, with Real Madrid a further point behind.
