Kremlin Calls France’s Nuclear Missile Test a “Dead End” Anti-Russia Strategy
The Kremlin on Wednesday criticised France’s test launch of a nuclear-capable submarine-launched missile, saying the move reflected Europe’s growing focus on confrontation with Russia. Moscow described the approach as a “dead end” strategy.
French President Emmanuel Macron had praised Tuesday’s missile test off the coast of Brittany, saying it sent a clear message without directly naming Russia. The launch came as tensions remain high over the war in Ukraine and European security.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia had received France’s message but remained open to dialogue. He argued that security issues should be resolved through diplomacy rather than what he called demonstrative missile launches.
