The tech giant Facebook is facing a problem in closing down the groups on its site where fake Amazon reviews are sold, claims ‘Which?’ the consumer group.

Facebook, in June was urged by CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) to tackle sale of fake reviews.

Certain uncovered active groups are recruiting people to write fake testimonies, claims Which?.

The social media giant claimed that the reported groups are being removed. They said that investigations are still going on regarding this issue.

CMA, previously had found some evidence that there is a thriving marketplace for fake and misleading online reviews. CMA reportedly said that during the period of November 2018 to June 2019, they had found about 26 Facebook groups in total, where people offered to write fake reviews or businesses recruited people to write fake and misleading reviews on popular shopping and review sites.

Which? said that for the investigations regarding this issue, it joined 10 separate Facebook groups looking for recruits.

In a short period of 30 days, the recruiters added more than 55,000 posts to the groups that offered free products to people who wrote highly-rated reviews on Amazon, said Which?.

Natalie Hitchins, the head of products at Which? said, “It is deeply concerning that [Facebook] continues to leave customers exposed to poor quality or unsafe products boosted by misleading and disingenuous reviews”.

Kerry Robertson (61), an Australian women with terminal cancer, has been reportedly ended her life under the new assisted dying laws.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. The cancer, then spread into her bones, lung, brain, and liver.

Ms Robertson’s death occurred at a nursing home in the state of Victoria in July.

The permission to use the the controversial legislation has been granted to Kerry Robertson. Although this exists only in Victoria, it is being considered in other states also. An approval process of 26 days is required for this.

The law has been passed by the state of Victoria in 2017 to legalise the practice, which went into effect this June.

A charity said that Ms Robertson took the decision to end her life in March, after the side effects of chemotherapy became severe. Reports said that she took medication to end her life after a 26-day approval process.

In a statement, her doctor said, “It was quick, she was ready to go. Her body was failing her and she was in incredible pain. She’d been in pain for a long time”.

After the mass attack in US, President Donald Trump said that has said “hate has no place” in the US.

29 people were killed in the deadly shootings over the weekend, in between the accusations that he bears some responsibility.

20 were dead in an attack in Texas and 9 died in a shooting in Ohio. In Texas, the attack happened on a Walmart store in El Paso.

In a statement regarding these severe attacks, President Mr Trump said, “perhaps more has to be done” to stop these kind of attacks.

Donald Trump is being criticized on regards of his anti-immigrant acts and opposition to gun control.

The mass shooting in Texas, that happened on Saturday killed 20. The 21 year old man, who got arrested for this attack is reportedly believed to give an online post that tells this attack was a response to “the Hispanic invasion” of the state.

The motive of the killer who caused the attack in Ohio is not yet clear. The man killed his sister and eight others on Sunday, and was hot dead by the police.

Franky Zapata (40), French inventor and creator of Flyboard and Flyboard Air has succesfully completed his attempt to cross the English Channel on a jet-powered fly-board.

Zapata, who started his flying from Sangatte, near Calais, at 06:17 GMT on Sunday had landed in St Margaret’s Bay in Dover.

A kerosene-filled backpack has been used in the fly-board journey. Zapata crossed a distance of 22-mile (35.4-km) in 22 minutes.

Zapata was a former jet-ski champion. A previous attempt had been made by him on 25th of July this year, which was not successful. Several complications were faced by him regarding the refueling of the flying system.

Filled with emotions, he told the media, “We made a machine three years ago… and now we’ve crossed the Channel, it’s crazy. Whether this is a historic event or not, I’m not the one to decide that, time will tell”.

“The last five, six kilometres were pure pleasure, to see the [British] coast approaching like this”, he said to the French media while talking with his family, after the flying.

The new Governor of Puerto Rico have arrived with bringing a new controversy to the US territory.

Protesters have already covered the justice secretary, days after Ricardo Rossello said he would step down as governor of Puerto Rico.

Ricardo Rossello had resigned amid mass protests over a leaked chat in which he and top aides shared obscenity-laced messages and Pedro Pierluisi came as the successor of Rossello.

But, doubts have raised regarding the term of Mr Pierluisi as governor, since the official confirmation has not yet been received from island’s Senate.

His appointment has been termed unconstitutional, by the critics.

Mr Pierluisi, in his inaugural speech said that he was “he was “fully capable and authorised to act, but the Senate will have its say”. “If I am not ratified then the second in line, the secretary of justice of Puerto Rico, will take over the governorship”.

Germany’s largest ever cocaine haul at the port of Hamburg, has been announced by the German customs officials.

It is reported that more than four tonnes of the drug were being transported from Montevideo, Uruguay, to Antwerp, Belgium. They were intercepted by the authorities in a routine check that happened two weeks ago.

The authorities of Germany said that 4.5 tonnes of cocaine, worth €1bn ($1.11 bn) has been seized.

Authorities has been reportedly said that the shipment was tagged as as Soya beans and were put inside a shipping container, in over 200 black sports bags. Over 4,200 packets of pressed cocaine were present in the hidden package.

Officials reported that very strict security were present while destroying the drugs.

In a statement given to media, the Hamburg Customs agency said, “Assuming that this likely high-purity cocaine can be cut to triple the amount for street sale, the 4.5 tonnes has a street value of approximately €1 billion”.

Brecon and Radnorshire by-election has been won by the Liberal Democrats. The new PM Boris Johnson just managed to have a Commons working majority of one.

The incumbent Conservative Chris Davies has been defeated for 1,425 votes by Jane Dodds, who had won a majority vote of more than 8,038.

Mr. Davies had been unseated by a petition following his conviction for a false expenses claim, and he came again.

Mr Johnson was seated as the Prime minister just 8 days before, and this was the first electoral test for him.

Ekaterina Karaglanova, a famous Instagram influencer has been found dead in a suitcase in her rented apartment in Moscow. The police said that several wounds with knife has been seen in her body.

Karaglanova (24) was a graduate doctor by profession, and was immensely popular in social media personally. She was quite famous in Instagram with more than 85,000 followers.

Police said that the possible motive of her murder could be jealousy, and the investigations are going on. Moskovsky Komsomolets (MK), a Russian daily said that Karaglanova has recently started a new relationship and was on a plan to visit The Netherlands for a vacation and to celebrate her birthday on 30 July.

No symptoms of struggle had been found out from her apartment, said the police after a primary investigation. Also, no weapons were found out from the spot.

Her parents tried contacting her, but failed. This lead to the doubts regarding her missing. They had requested her landlord to check her apartment, and then he found a suitcase containing her body in the hallway.

Her father requested for an ambulance, but she was already dead, reports said.

As the government insists that the UK is prepared to leave the EU without a deal, the value of Pound continued to fall on currency markets. On Thursday, Sterling continued to slide on the foreign exchanges. Sterling hits a fresh two-year low of $1.2120 against the dollar.

The currency of Pound also slid against the euro, falling to €1.0881 at one point. As the pound value falls, UK tourists heading abroad could face a “horrendous summer”, said one currency expert.

Reports said that the government under the new Prime Minister Boris Johnson has strengthened its stance on a no-deal Brexit, which it has said is “now a very real prospect”.

Before EU referendum in June 2016, the Pound was trading at about $1.50 against the dollar. It has now dropped by 2.4% since Monday, as a spokeswoman for Downing Street said that the UK would not enter talks with Europe unless the so-called Irish backstop is scrapped.

The rape allegations against the Brazilian football player Neymar Jr has now came to an end. The police investigation team, dealing with this particular case reportedly said that the case has been closed due to lack of evidence.

Neymar (27) has been accused of raping a Brazilian model Najila Trindade, at a hotel in the French capital in May.

Neymar said that he is being extorted, and has denied all the accusations against him. Neymar was not able to comment on the police decision, said a spokesman for Neymar to AFP.

The incident was first noted when a seven minute video has been released by him in his Instagram revealing that he had been accused of rape. He had also published the Whatsapp messages and images that he claimed to be of Najila.

Neymar, in the video said that he is publishing it for public to “prove that nothing really happened”.

Reports said that the prosecutors will be re evaluating the case before a judge makes a final decision.
