Germany was once one of the most aggressive nations in the world. It was its aggressive nature that led to the disastrous World War Two.

The post-World War Two Germany is a peaceful version of Germany. In order to keep the country in that state, many concisions have been offered to this country.

It is pertinent to prevent Germany from going back to its old state in order to make sure Europe does not lose its peacefulness.

It seems that some western countries do not understand why the European country has been given these many concisions.

The US has been irritating Germany for the last few years. It has warned Germany with the withdrawal of US troops for its failure to meet its obligation on NATO spending.

It is not wrong to pressurize a member country to respect the agreement it has reached as part of the NATO agreement.

It is absolutely irresponsible to argue that the US alone should shoulder the financial obligation of the NATO – which is a force working for the developed world.

But, it is objectionable to behave in a way that the US is a dominant force and the rest of the countries in the NATO are the subordinate powers or satellite powers of the dominant power. That attitude reflects the satellite concept of the erstwhile USSR – which miserably collapsed during the 1990s.

The decision to withdraw 12,000 troops from Germany taken by the US is an irresponsible act born out of the aforesaid attitude the US has accidentally acquired.

The new decision may encourage Germany to strengthen its army – the move the majority of the European countries are afraid of.

It may even give impetus to the creation of the European Army – which France has been pushing for long.

Germany, though is a liberal country at present, may fall under the clutches of far-rightists any moment. In the previous election, the far-rightist faction has shown its clout.

There is nothing more dangerous than paving way for the creation of a heavily-militarized Germany under the control of far-rightist leaders.

It is important not to forget the NAZI Germany.

As many as ten men, mostly Syrian refugees, have been found guilty in the German nightclub case, which sparked an anti-refugee sentiment in the country.

The lead defendant was awarded a tough punishment of five-year imprisonment. Aroud seven others have been given four-year imprisonment each.

The rest two men has received suspended sentences.

Notably, one person who was arrested in connection with the case was acquitted, as the prosecution has failed to prove the charges against the accused.

Germany was initially welcoming towards migrants. It was the first western country which opened up its borders wholeheartedly towards migrants.

But, the incident overturned everything. It turned a section of population of the country against the idea of allowing refugees inside the country.

The far-rightist politicized the entire incident. It achieved serious political gain from the development. It reflected in the election recently held in the European country of Germany.

A German court has observed that the authorities had too much access to the internet and mobile phone date of people.

The court has ordered the authority to develop a new law to protect the internet privacy of people.

Traditionally, Germans are very vigilant about their privacy laws. They never tolerate any kind of intrusion into their privacy matters.

They fought and dismissed the authoritarian politics of both the Nazi Germany and the post-World War Two East Germany, on this ground.

The latest directive of the court is serious in nature. It is expected to open up a serious debate on this matter.

The country has so far witnessed several movements demanding the protection of the mobile phone and internet date of people.

The court’s observation is expected to pave way for the emergence of a new political movement, which can force the country to introduce a strong law to protect the internet privacy of people.

It is high time to launch a global movement to protect the digital privacy of people. In most countries, the right to digital privacy is still in a primitive stage.

Let’s embrace the right to digital privacy together. Hope that the United Nations will take up the matter seriously.

The decision to withdraw US troops from Germany has badly affected the relation between Germany and the United States.

The controversial decision may weaken the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation – which serves as a security solution to several European countries.

As per the treaty reached post the World War Two, Germany is not free to increase the strength of its military capacity.

The new development means that Germany may have to forget the agreement to make sure no threat is faced to its sovereignty.

Military is the base of the relation between the United States and Germany, apart from trade.

The development offers a reason for the European country to expand its military capacity.

Increased military capacity is a known agenda of the German politics. Unlike before, now France, the nearest neighbor of Germany, is in favour of that idea.

What it opens actually is the possibility of the emergence of the concept of European Army – which several European countries see as a solution for the possible withdrawal of US troops from the European soil.
