British PM Theresa May said that, she will resign from her position as Prime Minister on 7th of June. This leads to a situation for a contest to select a new prime minister.

She was delivering an emotional speech and said that she had done her best for the Brexit deal and it was a matter of “deep regret” the she could not achieve her goal. “It is and will always remain a matter of deep regret to me that I have not been able to deliver Brexit”, admitted Thersa May.

She said that her position as the British Prime Minister had been the “honour” of her life. May said that she will be continuing her services as the PM while a conservative leadership contest takes place for selecting a new Prime Minister.

Her statements shows that May will be in the position of PM at the time of Donald Trump’s UK visit, which is due to be on the starting of June.

She said that she would leave “with no ill will, but with enormous and enduring gratitude to have had the opportunity to serve the country I love”. She was found to be emotional while delivering the speech.

She added that, for delivering the Brexit, the next PM would have to build agreement in Parliament. May said, “Such a consensus can only be reached if those on all sides of the debate are willing to compromise”.

PM Narendra Modi and his party BJP has won the world’s largest democratic election in India.

Earlier calculations and public opinion clearly showed the victory of Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP).

Results showed that BJP has won 282 seats, leading the NDA to a tally of 336 seats in the 543-seat Lok Sabha.

Narendra Modi also owns the title of third prime minister of India who has been able to retain power for a second term with full majority in Lok Sabha.

PM thanked the Indian people after confirming his victory. He said that the polls showed the world the commitment of Indian voter. In his speech, he said that it is the victory of people and democracy.

The most awaited 2022 FIFA Qatar worldcup will be held with a total of 32 teams playing. FIFA organisers on Wednesday told that there will not be an expanded team of 48.

An opinion for expanding the tournament had came from the FIFA President Gianni Infantino. He also proposed the idea of adding additional host nations.

“Following a thorough and comprehensive consultation process with the involvement of all the relevant stakeholders, it was concluded that under the current circumstances such a proposal could not be made now”, said the sport’s world ruling body said in statement.

FIFA and Qatar looked for the possibilities of using another Gulf state for hosting an expanded tournament. But political and logistical complexities raised for using another host Gulf nation.

FIFA said, “A joint analysis, in this respect, concluded that due to the advanced stage of preparations and the need for a detailed assessment of the potential logistical impact on the host country, more time would be required and a decision could not be taken before the deadline of June”.

Sebastian Kurz (32), the Austrian Chancellor replaced the far-right ministers with technocrats, after his coalition government collapsed amid a political scandal caused by a secret video. Kurz, is facing a no-confidence vote in parliament on Monday.

Kurz will now lead a minority government in the emerge of a scandal that has ensnared its coalition far-right partner. He had worked with the anti-immigrant Freedom party for the past 17 years in a controversial coalition once touted as a political model for threatened conservatives and insurgent populist parties alike across Europe.

If survives, Kurz will try to stay on until elections that would happen happen probably in September.

A video footage was released on Friday, showing the Freedom party’s leader Heinz-Christian Strache and Austrian vice-chancellor that leads to accusations of political graft and Russian-backed subversion.

The technocrats appointed includes, Eckart Ratz, the Former High Court judge and the current interior minister, Valerie Hackl, the former head of air traffic control who now controls the transport department, Lt Gen Johann Luif, the current defence minister and former deputy chief of staff, Walter Pöltner, former top civil servant in social affairs and labour department becomes minister in same department.

Prime Minister Theresa May has said that the MPs have “one last chance” for backing to the Brexit’s “new deal”.

May said that a vote will be given to the MPs to decide whether to hold another referendum if they back the EU Withdrawal Agreement Bill.

The bill mentions and promises on workers’ rights, environmental protections and the Northern Irish border.

“The Prime Minister’s latest proposals are worse than before and would leave us bound deeply in to the EU. It is time to leave on WTO terms”, said Jacob Rees-Mogg in his Twitter. “We can and must do better and deliver what the people voted for”, he added.

Theresa May said, “I have compromised, now I ask you to compromise too”. She also mentioned about her resignation that she offered. She said that, “ l offered to give up the job I love earlier than I would like”.

She asked the MPs to support the Withdrawal Agreement Bill at its first parliamentary hurdle and then “make the case” for another public vote when the bill was examined in detail later.

Duncan Laurence of Netherlands has won the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. His ‘Arcade’, the doleful piano ballad is the contest winning song.

Arcade was tapped as an early front-runner before Saturday’s Grand Final. But for securing the country’s fifth win in the competition it had to achieve high ranking in the fan voting.

The second position has gone to Italy. Russia, Switzerland and Norway got the next positions in this most awaited competition.

“This element of the performance was not part of the rehearsals which had been cleared with the EBU and the host broadcaster, KAN. The Eurovision Song Contest is a non-political event and Madonna had been made aware of this” they added.

Ingredients:

  • 1 envelope active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 7 cups bread flour
  • Nonstick spray
  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • Oil

Preparation:

In a large bowl, mix water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl and let sit for 10 minutes. In another bowl, beat the eggs, salt and evaporated milk. Add the egg mixture to the yeast mixture and combine it well. Measure out the bread flour in a separate bowl.

To the yeast mixture, add 3 cups of the flour and stir to combine. Add the shortening and continue to stir while adding the remaining flour. Remove the dough from the bowl. Put it on a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Apply nonstick spray in a bowl. Put dough into the bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a towel. Let rise in a warm place for at least 2 hours.

Preheat the oil in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees F. Add the confectioners’ sugar to a plastic bag and. Set it aside. Roll the dough into about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into 1-inch squares. Deep-fry it by flipping constantly until they become a golden color.

After the Beignets are fried, drain them for a few seconds on paper tissues. Toss them into the bag of confectioners’ sugar. Hold the bag closed and shake to spread it evenly.

A French anesthesiologist named Frederic Pechier, has been charged for poisoning of 17 people at a clinic in eastern France. The convict has already been investigated for seven other cases of poisoning, among which a total of nine lead to death.

Frederic Pechier (47) have been working as an anaesthesiologist at two private clinics in the eastern French city of Besancon. If found guilty, he would be punished with a life-time imprisonment.

Randall Schwerdorffer, a lawyer told that Pechier was freed overnight on conditional release. Prosecutors claimed that Pechier deliberately tampered with his colleagues’ anaesthesia pouches for creating an emergency and show off his talents.

Jean—Yves Le Borgne, his lawyer reports to media that the investigation proved nothing. He said, “There is a possibility that Dr Pechier committed those poisonings but this hypothesis is nothing but a hypothesis. The presumption of innocence must be stressed”.

Former political leader of the Basque terrorist group Eta has been arrested in France, after 17 years on the run, Spanish government said. Josu Ternera (Jose Antonio Urrutikoetxea) got arrested in Sallanches, after a joined operation by the French-Spanish police.

Josu Ternera who is accused over several Eta killings, was once Eta’s political chief. Eta had waged a violent campaign for Basque independence for more than 40 years. The group announced its disbanding in the year 2018.

More than 800 people were killed by this group during its campaign of violence before declaring a ceasefire in 2011. Spain’s interior ministry said, “The terrorist had been living near Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, an area very popular with those who practise winter sports”. “The village lies very close to the borders between France, Switzerland and Italy” the ministry added.

The cost of International calls from the UK to another EU country were capped at around 20p/min from Wednesday. The cheaper international calls and texts are part of the EU Commission’s plan for strengthening telecoms rules, after it banned roaming charges across the region in June 2017.

Certain measured have been taken to make the 5G networks widely available by 2020. The European commission said that the standard price of making a call between two EU countries is thrice higher on average than the standard price of a domestic call, while standard text prices are twice as high.

Here are some key points u need to know regarding the price cap:

Callers from a EU country to another EU country will pay a maximum of 16p per minute (19 cents) plus VAT and 5p (6 cents) plus VAT per SMS message.

Telephone providers must use encryption systems to prevent security incidents and reduce their impact on users.

The maximum cost is capped for private personal calls only.

Business customers have been excluded from the price cap.
