Iluza Isyandavletova from Bashkortastan has won the title of the Miss Asia 2023. Aayushma Bajracharya of Nepal achieved the first runner-up position, Cerena Ann Johnson from the UAE secured the second runner-up title, and Jinnapat Palsuea from Thailand earned the third runner-up position. The crowning ceremony was attended by former Miss Asia Winner Nguyen Thi Yen Trang, SAJ Group Hotels and Resorts CMD Sajan Varghese, Mini Sajan, CEO of SAJ Group Hotels and Resorts, and Jolly Antony, Chairman of Vibe Munnar. Dr. Ajit Ravi, Chairman of Pegasus, was also in attendance at the event.

The contestants underwent a grooming session conducted by Pegasus, a renowned organization dedicated to fostering the growth of young talents and showcasing their modeling careers and abilities to the world. Pegasus, with its commitment to empowering emerging talents, played a pivotal role in refining and enhancing the skills of the participants, ensuring they were well-prepared for the global stage. Through these grooming sessions, Pegasus exemplifies its mission to provide a platform for aspiring individuals to step forward confidently and make a mark in the world of modeling and talent.

Out of numerous Miss Asia pageant hopefuls, 15 emerged as finalists. Unfortunately, two contestants faced unexpected challenges, including visa issues, which hindered their participation in the finals. The well-deserving winners of Miss Asia 2023 were adorned with splendid gold crowns designed by Preeti Prakash from Parakkat Jewellers. Thirteen contestants showcased their poise and elegance on the runway throughout the competition, featuring three distinct rounds: the National Costume Round, the White Cocktail Round, and the Royal Blue Gown Round.

Manappuram Finance Ltd and DQUE present Miss Queen of India 2022 title was won by   Vaishnavi Sharma from Rajasthan. Meharmeet Kaur from Maharashtra earned the Miss Queen of India First Runner-up title and Abinaya Subramanian from Tamil Nadu won the Miss Queen of India 2nd Runner-up title. Food

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. corn starch
  • 1 pkg. (200 g) Gouda cheese, cubed
  • 1 pkg. (200 g) Swiss cheese, cubed
  • 1 clove garlic, cut in half
  • 1 cup Kraft 100% Parmesan Shredded Cheese
  • 1-1/2 cups dry white wine

Preparation:

In a large bowl, mix corn starch and mustard. Add some cubed cheeses and toss to coat.

Rub the inside portion of fondue potion of the fondue pot with garlic. Bring into boil in medium heat. Slowly add the cheese cubes, stir constantly until the whole cheese is melted.

Add and cook the Parmesan. Stir for 2 to 3 minutes, until it is melted completely. Prevent the sauce from coming into boiling by reducing the heat if necessary. Serve hot!

Three people, including Italian champion speed boat racer Fabio Buzzi have died after a power boat crashed near the Italian city of Venice.

The boat had crashed near the rocks of the Punta Sabbioni, off Venice. Italian emergency services said the bodies were recovered from the submerged cabin of the boat.

The boat, which was trying to break the offshore speed record from Monte Carlo hit an artificial reef.

Fabio Buzzi (76), an Italian businessman and power boat world champion, who was leading the team, was on an attempt to set a new record.

Dutch mechanic whose name is still not known, and Luca Nicolini from Italy were the other two, who got killed in the accident, says the president of the Italian Offshore and Endurance Committee, Giampaolo Montavoci.

Reports said that the other member in their team, Italian Mario Invernizzi, survived with injuries.

France claims that the oldest person on record was not fake. The officials of France have refused to change the death certificate of Jeanne Calment, the oldest woman on record, despite claims of fraud by Russian researchers.

The death of Jeanne Calment was in 1997, aged 122 years and 165 days. But, the Russian researchers, on account of their studies claims that she died in 1930s.

She had acquired the place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s oldest person.

Reports said that Jeanne also had claimed that she had met the artist Vincent van Gogh (who was born in 1853).

The team of Russian researchers insists that Jeanne’s daughter had taken her identity in order to avoid paying inheritance tax.

But, the French officials discredited the claims of Russian researchers saying that Jeanne’s age is “well-documented”.

The second part of the movie Maleficent, is waiting to hit the screens on this October. The second part is named as ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”.

It is an epic fantasy adventure which follows the ascendant princess Aurora and the darkly charismatic Maleficent as they try to navigate the complex dynamics between them, form new alliances and confront new adversaries – all in a bid to protect their land and its subjects.

A formidable queen causes a rift between Maleficent and Princess Aurora. Together, they must face new allies and enemies in a bid to protect the magical lands which they share.

The movie will be having its theatrical release on October 18th.

The film is directed by Joachim Ronning from a story by Linda Woolverton and a screenplay is done by Linda Woolverton and Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster, the film is produced by Joe Roth, Angelina Jolie and Duncan Henderson with Matt Smith, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Michael Vieira serving as executive producers.

Paul Whelan, the Former US marine, who was accused in Russia for spy works has said he is not a spy and that he was set up by a Russian friend.

Whelan (48), who is also a citizen of the UK, Canada and Ireland has said to the media that a friend had planted a hard drive on him without his knowledge.

Paul Whelan said, “A person turned up at my [hotel] room and put something in my pocket, then I was arrested”.

The Moscow court has denied his appeal against detention. Whelan was caught “red-handed” with state secrets last year, says the prosecutors.

The investigations came to an end now and the lawyers of Whelan have begun studying the evidence. Since this is an espionage case, all the information is classified.

The US ambassador in Moscow asked Russia to stop “playing games” with the case.

Current Luxembourg prime minister Xavier Bettel reportedly said that the Brexit process has turned into a “nightmare”. The PM’s comment came after holding talks with UK PM Boris Johnson.

Bettel said that the UK PM had failed to take any serious decisions to allow a deal by 31 October.

Boris Johnson is facing a severe protest and was forced to cancel his press conference. He said, “there’s been a lot of work” and “papers have been shared”.

PM said that his joint press conference was cancelled due to the fear that the two leaders would have been “drowned out” by pro-EU protesters.

Mr. Johnson said, “I don’t think it would have been fair to the prime minister of Luxembourg”.

“I think there was clearly going to be a lot of noise and I think our points might have been drowned out”, he added.

Ric Ocasek, the lead singer of the US band The Cars, has died aged 75.

The New York Police Department said that his family had called for help since they found Ocasek unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at his home in Manhattan, said the police. The cause of death is still not known.

Ocasek’s instant success was as a founding member of the Cars, recording numerous hit songs from 1978 to 1988. He played rhythm guitar and sang lead vocals for a majority of songs.

His other hits includes “Drive”, “Good Times Roll” and “My Best Friend’s Girl”.

Seven years after reforming for a tour and what would be their final album, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

UK will not be accepting any more Brexit delay offer, beyond the current 31 October deadline, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is to tell European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker at talks on Monday.

Since Boris Johnson came into authority as PM, the lunchtime meeting in Luxembourg will be the first time the pair have met.

Reports says that the Prime Minister will stress he wants to secure a deal by 18 October, after a key EU summit.

But, if this is not possible, Mr Johnson will “reject any delay offered” and leave with no deal.

The PM “would make clear that he would not countenance any more delays”, said the source.

Reports said that “Any further extension would be a huge mistake. It is not just a question of the extra dither and delay – it is also the additional long months of rancour and division, and all at huge expense.”
