Over 100 lost life in Armenia-Azerbaijan battle
Around 100 people has lost their life in the Armenia-Azerbaijan battle. Unfortunately, among those who have been affected include civilians.
The battle was triggered by the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. The issue is one of the oldest disputes in the European region.
Armenia considers Nagorno-Karabakh, which is under the control of its ethnic minorities, as an integral part of the country.
Azerbaijan rejects that claim made by Armenia. The country considers it as the real owner of the region.
Azerbaijan’s claim has the backing of the liberal western powers such as the European Union and the United States of America.
Likewise, Armenia has the backing of the European country of Russia.
Both Armenia and Azerbaijan are the former Soviet Socialist Republics.
The initial dispute over the ownership of the territory began during the early 1990s – shortly after the disintegration of the United States of Soviet Socialist Republics.
The global community watches the latest development in the continent of Europe with a curious eye.
Many fear that the latest development will trigger a huge crisis in the continent.
