Thomas Mueller has scored his first international score in two years as Germany crushed minnows Latvia 7-1 in their final warm-up friendly before the Euro 2020 finals.
Latvia which ranked 138th in the world, got rarely out of their half as Germany turned up for their opening game of the European Championship against world champions France in eight days’ time in Munich. The 35-year old veteran had one of the quietest nights of his career in Dusseldorf. He was largely untested until Latvia midfielder Aleksejs Saveljevs caught the German defense napping with a consolation goal 15 minutes from time.
Kai Havertz ghosted through the Latvia defense to set up the opener as left-back Robin Gosens claimed his first international goal, then 86 seconds later Gundogan crashed in the second. Germany was 3-0 up inside 27 minutes when Mueller hit the net, his 39th goal in 102 caps for Germany.

Yana Sizikova, a Russian tennis player has been released from police custody a day after she was arrested as part of an investigation into match-fixing at last year’s French Open.
She was released without being charged. The 26-year old, who is also ranked 101st in doubles, seemed to be shocked by the allegations, as stated by her lawyer. The investigation was announced shortly after Sizikova and the American player Madison Brengle lost to the Romanians Andreea Mitu and Patricia Maria Tigin in the tournament’s opening round.
Suspicions were reportedly raised after betting companies noticed hundreds of thousands of euros had been wagered on a break of serve in the second set. Despite Sizikova’s release on Friday, the investigation is continuing.

Europe’s biggest tourist attraction, Disneyland Paris, will be hosting a mass Covid-19 vaccination site at its convention center as France is trying to speed up its inoculation drive, as the officials said Wednesday.
The amusement park was being closed since October 30, when non-essential businesses were asked to close amid a surge in infections, putting its 17,000 employees out of work. Later it had plans to re-admit visitors on April 2, but the conditions kept worsening forcing it to postpone. The vaccination site will be conducted outside the amusement park proper at its Newport Bay Club, a convention center near its hotel complex.
As per the reports, it will be run by local authorities and the regional ARS health center service and will be only on weekends. Its goal is to give shots to at least 10,000 people a day, wherein France aims to give at least one jab to 20 million people by mid-May.
