Since the disintegration of erstwhile Soviet Union, Russia is under the tight grip of Vladimir Putin – the dictatorial leader who knows little nothing about the need to tolerate dissent.

Mr. Putin treats Russia as his property. He has successfully brought the entire country under his direct control, breaking the backbone of all who has stood against his aggressive triumph. He is fearless, intolerant and also merciless. For him, any attack against his politics is an attack against his country, Russia.

Lately, he has brought in some interesting changes to the country. He has made the Russian government resign and injected more powers into the country’s lawmaking house. In addition, he has strengthened the Russia council – which is the body of Russian governors.

Though the measures sound impressive, when these are observed closely it is seen that the President’s ambition to sustain his control over his country is what that sits beneath his new plans.

Putin’s Russia faces many challenges at this moment – in the economical as well as in the military front.

Russia needs to find an urgent solution to its stagnated growth. The European country can no longer turn its back on the criticism raised against the country – from inside as well as from outside.

French President Emanuel Macron has scolded the Israel police as they have provocatively accompanied the President to a church, which falls under the French territory.

The church, situated in Israel, was gifted to the Ottoman Empire to France for the latter’s support in a war.

The action resembles the one happened during the visit of former French President Jacques Chirac. During the visit of Mr. Chirac in the year 1996, the Israel police provocatively shoved the Palestinians, journalists and his aides who accompanied him to the church.

Then, in order to deescalate the tension, the Israel government apologised to the French government, saying that their intention was to protect a friend.

The Israel government has not yet responded to the latest incident.

Mr. Macron is in Palestine to attend a function hosted by a Jewish organisation to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

At this moment, it remains unclear whether the incident will affect the relation between Israel and France.

It is a well-known truth that Israel aims to establish its dominance over the entire of Jerusalem.

It is yet to be ascertained whether the action of the Israel police has anything to do with the said mindset of the country.

A French book linked the infamous 11 September 2001 terrorist attack on the United States to the Central Intelligence Agency, the intelligence agency controlled by the US federal government.

The publisher has later apologised for his mistake. The publisher has admitted the phrase that links the CIA to the 9/11 as a mistake.

The phrase is going viral in social media. It has come to the attention of the public after it was pointed out by certain school teachers based in the country.

The theory that links the Central Intelligence Agency to the 9/11 attack is a debunked conspiracy theory.

The book is supposed to be learned by undergraduates. The publisher is yet to explain how such a serious error occurred in the book.

The US has not yet formally commended about the issue. The CIA is likely to strongly denounce the phrase appeared in the French history textbook. Definitely, for an agency like the CIA which dedicatedly works for the betterment of the US, what was appeared in the textbook is a humiliating phrase.

At this moment, it remains unclear whether the publisher will take any step to remove the books which carry the wrong phrase entirely from the market. A strong demand is likely to rise from the US towards that direction.

Russia is preparing to bring huge changes in its system. The Russian PM has announced his decision to dissolve his government. He has called his decision to dissolve the government as a step to facilitate the smooth implementation of the proposed changes. It seems that his council of ministers was kept in dark about the decision till the formal announcement.

The new changes will make the position of the President weaker than the Parliament. Those will also increase the strength of the Russian council presently headed by Vladimir Putin.

Mr. Putin is about to exist from the officer of the President of Russia in the near future. The latest arrangement is seen as a measure to sustain his clout over the Russian establishment.

Mr. Putin was beside the PM as a silent participant when the latter has announced his big decision to the people of the country.

Clearly, the Russia President has no plan to release his country from his tight clutches.

Technically, since the disintegration of the then Soviet Union, Russia is under the command of this ex-Spy.

Whenever the constitution of the country has come as a hindrance to his ascendance in various forms, such as the presidential term limit, he has brilliantly used various loopholes, such as the provision to switch the position with the PM, to continue his dominance over the country.

This time is also not different.

Already, all the political opponents of Mr. Putin have dismissed the proposed changes as a sham.

To implement the changes, the President needs the support of the people of the country. That is Russia is going to see a referendum in the near future. Not any time since the year 1993 the country has seen a referendum. In such a note, it is a positive step. It is also good to verify how much acceptance Mr. Putin has in his country.

Nonetheless, not many are happy with the announcement. Many of the political opponents of the Russian establishment have expressed their doubt in the ability of the present Russia to conduct a transparent referendum to understand whether the people of the country are happy with the proposed changes.

A deadly blast happened at a chemical factory in the Spanish autonomous territory of Catalonia has sent shockwaves to the people of the country.

As per a preliminary assumption, the blast was accidental. Initially, the authorities asked the residents of the area to stay safely inside their homes. But, later, the directive has been revoked by the same authority, as they have found that no harmful gas was released during the blast.

Catalonia is a heavily industrialised region in the European country of Spain. It is an autonomous region. A movement for the independence of this region from Spain is at a crucial juncture at this stage.

The present Spanish government owes the separatist parties in the region for its existence, as these parties form an integral part of the ruling coalition.

It is not clear how this development is going to reflect in the continuing agitation aimed at the independence of the region from the control of Spain.

No region in Spain is as prosperous as Catalonia. The Spanish economy relies hugely on the region for its stability.

The disinterest of Spain to give the region what it wants is linked to the aforesaid fact. The country knows well that losing Catalonia means losing its economic stability.
