Russian opposition politicians jailed in Montenegro
Two pro-Russian opposition politicians, who tried to topple the government were jailed for 5 years by a court in Montenegro.
12 others, including two Russians were also found guilty alleged secret agents – tried in absentia.
The Prosecutors said the plotters had the support of Kremlin to assassinate the then-PM Milo Djukanovic and block Nato accession.
Andrija Mandic and Milan Knezevic are the opposition leaders jailed on Thursday. A Montenegrin, nine Serbs and two Russians were also included.
A heavy jail term of 12 and 15 years were given to the Russians, Eduard Shishmakov and Vladimir Popov.
