Italy stops tender for Turin-Lyon train tunnel

Giuseppe Conte, the Italian Prime Minister had given tenders on hold for a high-speed railway to France. Several political clashes were going on over the project.
Mr Conte’s 5 Star Motion had been criticising the multibillion-euro TAV link (Treno Alta Velocita) but, is backed by its coalition associate, the League.
The impasse had put forward a talk regarding the shutdown of the Italian Government.
Giuseppe Conte said in a Facebook statement that he had asked TELT to stop the finalisation of tenders for the rail link since his government had committed to “totally re-discussing” the project.
