Bayern Munich Won the German Super Cup Again, Defeating Borussia Dortmund
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski scored twice in a 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund to help his team retain the German Super Cup.
Bayern took the lead through Lewandowski shortly before halftime, and Thomas Muller added a second immediately after the restart. On 64 minutes, Marco Reus equalised for the hosts at Signal Iduna Park. With his 24th goal against his previous club, Lewandowski restored his side’s two-goal lead 10 minutes later.
Between 2010 and 2014, the Poland international played four years with Dortmund. The German Super Cup is contested between the Bundesliga champions, which Bayern Munich won for the tenth year in a row last season and the DFB-Pokal winners.
