The European country of Russia has commenced an investigation into the illegal pumping of waste water by a mining company in the Arctic.
As per a latest report, the officials responsible for the violation have been suspended. The timely action of the authorities has resulted to the stoppage of the condemnable act.
It is not the first time this region has come to limelight for the violation of pollution norms, as per a report.
It was an investigation launched by an independent Russian daily which led to the exposure of the violation.
As per a statement published by the daily, their officials were stopped from filming the irresponsible act.
As per the statement, the waste water was believed to contain several harmful metals like nickel, cobalt and copper.
The Russian government has launched a serious investigation into the matter. The mining company as per a recent report will corporate with the investigation launched by the government.
