Police clash with yellow vests after Bastille Day military parade
Soon after the France’s annual Bastille Day military parade, the yellow vest protesters had a clash with the Paris police. The police have fired tear gas at the protesters near the Champs-Elysées.
Shortly after the parade on Sunday, the boulevard in central Paris was reopened to traffic. A group of so called “Yellow vest” protesters rushed to the region and tried to occupy it.
The police said that about 150 people were banned from attending the parade since they tried to stage some unauthorised demonstration. The yellow vest protesters were also included in this.
The protesters were chanting anti-government slogans, and they knocked down the security barriers set for the parade. They threw objects at the police who tried to disperse them. Reports said that these protesters set fire to bins and portable toilets.
As the police put restrictions on people (protesters) to wear he yellow vest, some had carried yellow balloons instead. Reports said that this violence on Sunday was the worst one in central Paris since March.
