EU not to allow US travellers

The European Union is likely to exclude the North American country of United States of America from the list which publishes the name of those countries that shall be allowed to resume travel relation with the continent.

As per a latest report, EU ambassadors will meet this week to plan reopening external borders.

It is learned that a good number of European countries are very keen to open up to boarders for tourists.

The 27-member bloc must first agree the measures that non-EU countries should meet before deciding on a safe list.

The virus is spreading in the US. It implies that the meeting will witness strong objection for any recommendation which suggests the opening up of borders in the favour of the US.

Brazil and Russia are the other two countries which have high infection rates. These countries may also face the same fate as that of the United States.

The EU is not yet thought to have agreed how they will assess which countries meet health standards – one of the criteria for entry.

Part of the problem is assessing reliable health data.
