Notre Dame Celebrates the first Holy Mass wearing hard hats

After the devastating fire at Notre Dame cathedral, that destroyed the roof and major parts, the priests held the first Holy Mass, wearing hard hats, for safety.

There were restrictions for people to attend the mass due to some security reasons. The Catholic Diocese of Paris said that only thirty were allowed inside. The Archbishop of Paris, Michel Aupetit lead the Holy Mass.

Media reports said that almost 15 were priests including the Archbishop of Paris and auxiliary bishop Philippe Marsset. The Paris Archbishop said, “It was an emotional moment especially because most of the [mass attendees] work at the cathedral”. “It’s their home”, added the Archbishop.

Some of the construction workers helping to rebuild the church were also allowed to attend.

This was exactly two months after the Cathedral met with the fire. Only the twin bell towers of the Cathedral were left undamaged.
